There are a number of factors that play a part in your decision-making when purchasing a new fence. Here are a few considerations you should keep in mind…
If you wish to gain more privacy, consider buying fences with little to no space in between boards. A tightly-spaced lattice fence can nearly be as private as a solid material, especially when combined with surrounding lush foilage of climbing plants.
Is going gateless an option?
If security isn’t as important as ease of access, sometimes a gate isn’t required. This allows you to focus more on the design and aesthetic of the fence, allowing you to be more creative.
Blocking an unwanted view
Perhaps you live close to a busy street and wish to create a more peaceful looking garden without the distraction or intrusion. In this scenario, taller or closely spaced fences are the suitable option, helping improve the aesthetics of your garden whilst maintaining privacy.
Do you have dogs?
If you own a pet dog that needs to roam around the garden area, this will need to be considered when purchasing your new fence. Can your dog jump high structures? If so, you will need to consider the height of the fence, making sure it is tall enough to prevent dogs from escaping. If you own a smaller dog who doesn’t tend to attempt to jump structures then you have more flexibility with your choice.
You may also want to consider blocking any visual stimuli if your dog is easily provoked into barking at any distractions.
